Explanation
It’s fine if you don’t have a heart rate monitor. I’ve used one off and on as gifts, and tend to use them until they break. What I’ve noticed is… nothing. No major improvements, just fun details, and data points to look at. So, if you don’t have one, just run nice and easy, with little to no strain, while you are still running.
You will be tempted to go faster, but don’t. This is just easing you into what is more to come.
Use this time to do some cheesy self-affirmations, you’ve got some easy time on the road, might as well remind yourself how awesome you are.
You know how people like to say the world doesn’t revolve around you? Well, they are wrong. It kind of does. Obviously not in the literal sense, but in terms of importance, yup.
You can’t help the world out if you’re not happy with the direction your life is going. So, find the direction you want your life to take and go for it.
