Explanation
It’s fine if you don’t have a heart rate monitor. I have had one-off and on as gifts, and tend to use them until they break. What I’ve noticed is… nothing. No major improvements, just fun details, and data points to look at. So, if you don’t have one, just run nice and easy, with little to no strain, while you are still running.
You will be tempted to go faster, but don’t. This is just easing you into what is more to come.
